Audition Training

Most actors play a character in an audition, assuming that's what the casting director is looking for.

The truth is, casting directors and directors don’t know what they are looking for, but they know it when they see it.

Actors who book the job bring something fresh and unique to the audition, adding value to the story with their personality.

Auditioning is about showing who you are.

In our audition training, we focus on bringing your personality to life in the scene. What is unique about you that only you can give to the world?

Remember, casting directors are not interested in characters; they are interested in people. So give up the idea of playing a character.

There is only one person in the world like you, and we want to see you, not an actor.

Scene Work

The most common mistake actors make is playing the scene that is written. They assume that what they read is the scene.

The scene is never the scene, and words are barely the truth.

What is a scene really about?

“Every scene is a love scene” - Michael Shurtleff

Every scene is driven by something you need from your partner. Something that makes you emotional.

In class, you will perform a prepared scene with your partner.

In live action and in front of the camera.

We determine how you can stand out, leave a lasting impression, and discover what is not written on the page.

Because actors who get cast go beyond the words.

Change

Acting changes like any other profession. Actors don’t act anymore like they did forty years ago, not even like last year. The rise of international streaming services changed the industry and is demanding an “authentic” acting style.
